August 15, 2012 – The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) announced today that CARLOS BARRON, who is employed by Denison Landscaping, Inc. was the “First” employee with Denison Landscaping to pass the Landscape Industry Certified Technician – Exterior exam. The test was offered through our partnership with the Landscape Contractors Association of MD/DC/VA.
This day-long, hands-on test challenges the candidate touse mental and physical ability under time constraints. Candidates must pass all the challenges in a selected specialty area such as Softscape Installation, Hardscape Installation, Turf Maintenance, Ornamental Maintenance or Irrigation. Carlos completed the Softscape Installation module.
The Professional Landcare Network offers six certification designations. Passing the tests required to achieve these designations demonstrates skill within the landscape and lawn care industries. Consumers are encouraged to ask for certified individuals when selecting landscape and lawn care companies. Certification enhances an individual’s professionalism, demonstrates a sense of personal achievement, and increased resect and recognition in the profession.
The PLANET certification program, Landscape Industry Certified, is supported and used internationally, shows credibility and commitment to best practices, and leaves a lasting impression. In fact, the International Certification Council (ICC) has worked to align the PLANET certification program with national standards and follow a robust strategic planning initiative.
